Online Stores ranks in Pittsburgh 100 Six Years Running

Online Stores, Inc. celebrates its sixth consecutive year on the Pittsburgh 100, a list of the fastest growing companies in the Pittsburgh area. Even in this limping economy, Online Stores, Inc. reported 26.84% growth in revenue sales from 2008 to 2010, placing them 64^th among other burgeoning companies of western Pennsylvania.

As reported in the Pittsburgh Business Journal on August 26^th, Online Stores, Inc. also ranked 6^th in the Retail/Wholesale/Distribution category. Owners Lisa and Kevin Hickey started selling American flags from their basement in January 2001 and have since molded their business into an ecommerce powerhouse that yields over $25 million in annual sales. Located in New Stanton, PA, their company is expanding yearly, employing approximately 100 workers and counting.

Vice President Kevin Hickey stated that it would’ve been impossible to rank in the Pittsburgh 100 for six years running without the hard work and dedication of an excellent team of managers and staff.

Online Stores, Inc. currently operates over 20 retail websites, selling everything from flags and flagpoles, safety equipment, and tea to strollers, garden tools, and promotional products.

In 2009 Online Stores, Inc. continued its climb to the top of the e-commerce heap, coming in at an attractive number 27 in the mass merchants category of the Internet Retailer’s list of the top 500 online merchants known to man. The Top 500 Guide, as the list is known, is the only authoritative ranking of the nation’s most successful e-retailers.

In the previous edition of the The Top 500 Guide, OLS saw itself ranked at number 28 in the mass merchants category. Number 28 is a nice place to be, but OLS is a company that is constantly striving to better itself in any way possible.

OLS’ rise in the rankings can surely be attributed to the success of its new stores. Landscapersstore.com, for example, has been winning the praise of many members of the landscaping community, and after only a few short months of existence, DefibExperts.com, a site selling Automated External Defibrillators, or AEDs, is already a runaway success.

The Social Media and Advertising Departments at OLS also deserve much of the credit for helping the company improve its position on the list. Headed up by some of OLS’ brightest and most brilliant employees, these two departments have striven valiantly to bring the company more valuable recognition.

I sure hope OLS isn’t afraid of heights, because it certainly appears this company truly is going straight to the top!!

Online Stores, Inc. is proud to announce the launch of its newest store, SafetyGirl.com! This unique site was designed with the specific needs of female construction workers in mind. We plan on offering everything from pink hard hats and tool belts to an emergency roadside SafetyGirl kit!

In addition to SafetyGirl.com, we’ve also launched a brand new SafetyGirl blog where you can find interesting articles related to women and the work they do, product descriptions and reviews, as well as other bits of information.

As of right now, both sites are still pretty bare, but we’re all hard at work here in the Online Stores, Inc. corporate offices developing the sites by adding new products and scouring the the Wed in search of professional female construction workers / writers to contribute to the blog. The English Tea Store Goes Viral

We are excited to announce the grand opening of The English Tea Store on Twitter and Facebook!

The English Tea store, one of our flagship stores, has recently gone viral! Don’t worry, we’re not sick , it simply means that we’ve taken the plunge into the world of social media. This project has been a long time in the making, and we are all excited to finally get it underway.

Twitter is a social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read other users’ updates known as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 bytes in length. Twitter is a relatively new concept, but it is by far one of the fastest growing websites in the world, and we’re excited to finally be joining the craze!

As I’m sure most people between the ages of 3 and 127 know, Facebook is the most popular social networking site in the entire world. With more than 175 million active users, its pretty easy to see that Facebook will likely be #1 for quite awhile.
