Valley Forge Flag Company

Valley Forge

The Valley Forge Flag Company was founded in 1882, and it remains a family-owned business to this day. Steeped in history, the company began as a burlap sac business, and soon after became a World War I surplus goods provider, featuring none other than their now famous American flags. With increasing demand, the company opened a small sewing factory in Spring City, PA in 1932. The opening of this factory marked the official beginning of Valley Forge Flag brand.

Valley Forge Flag’s mission is to manufacture 100% American-made U.S. flags. As a founding member of the Flag Manufacturers Association of America, Valley Forge educates the public and flag retailers about the significance of manufacturing American flags in the U.S. The association also helps enforce the labeling requirements for imported products. Any flag marked with the FMAA seal is guaranteed to be made in the U.S. with only American-made materials.

Valley Forge flags are perhaps among some of the most popular flags in the world.  They have been seen in many conspicuous locations, including:

  • Japan -The flag raised on Feb. 23, 1945 at Iwo Jima during World War II was manufactured by Valley Forge
  • Germany – The first flag raised after the liberation of 20,000 prisoners from the Buchenwald concentration camp during World War II was manufactured by Valley Forge
  • France – A Valley Forge brand flag was flown in France on D-Day – June 6, 1944
  • The Moon – The very first flag placed on the moon by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin was manufactured by Valley Forge
  • Hollywood – Valley Forge flags were featured in “Saving Private Ryan” and “Band of Brothers”

Online Stores, Inc. Ranked Among America’s Top 500 Internet Retailers

New Stanton, PA May 12, 2009 – Online Stores, Inc. announced today that they have again been included amongst America’s top 500 internet retailers in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.  2009 will be Online Stores, Inc.’s third year on the prestigious list; the company has received the award annually since 2007.

Online Stores, Inc. first appeared in the highly competitive Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide in 2007, and the company has steadily moved up the list each year since.  The Guide ranks America’s top companies according to the previous year’s annual sales, and it features some of the biggest names on the internet such as Amazon, Apple, and Dell.

Originally debuting in the 378th spot on the Top 500, Online Stores, Inc. has steadily moved up the list, and today they are proud to announce recently being named the 352nd largest internet retailer in America.  Due in part to a dramatic increase in sales in 2008, Online Stores Inc. has managed to improve their ranking by some 26 places, a feat rarely seen in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, which released its 2009 edition on Monday.

The recent success of Online Stores, Inc. is due in large part to the successes of its United States Flag Store and English Tea Store divisions, which together accounted for just over $10.6 million in sales in 2008.  According to company reports, in the 4th quarter of 2008, the Online Stores, Inc. shipping department shipped just over 86,000 orders with an astounding 99.7% accuracy rate.  At its current pace, Online Stores, Inc. seems prepared to continue its steady rise among the ranks of the Internet Retailer Top 500 for many years to come.
